Key Trend: Ethanol prices have continued to fluctuate. Additional fermentation plants are adding to an abundant reserve of ethanol. Demand is up and is expected to exceed the 4.9 billion gallons produced in 2006 to more than 5.3 billion gallons in 2007. Ethanol prices reached a historical high in 2006 but have been continuing downward and are now appearing to be on the upswing again. In March 2007 the price was $1.920 and dropped steadily to $1.580 in September but has been gradually increasing in October and November.
