As vice president at AccuVal, Roy D'Souza is responsible for business development nationally in the Corporate Services sector, which includes valuations & consulting for property tax, financial reporting and income tax purposes. With over 18 years of personal property consulting and appraisal experience, Mr. D'Souza also manages both valuation and property tax engagements at AccuVal.
Prior to joining the company in 2005, Mr. D'Souza worked as a senior manager at KPMG LLP & BearingPoint, Inc. where he served as midwest region practice leader for tangible asset valuation services & energy/utility industry valuation services and, prior to that, for personal property tax consulting services. His specific experience includes the management and delivery of valuation engagements for financial reporting requirements (FASB 141, 142, and 144), tax purposes (sell-side assistance and corporate reorganization), and asset-based lending for the energy/utility sector. Mr. D'Souza has an extensive background in personal property tax compliance and consulting, as he spent 13 years of his career dedicated to working in all applicable states and in numerous industry sectors that include hi-tech, manufacturing, transportation, energy/utility, health care, and financial services. Mr. D'Souza also spent time with Coopers & Lybrand LLP in its State and Local Tax practice.
Mr. D'Souza is a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) and is a candidate for the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) Machinery & Technical Specialties designation. He graduated from DePaul University in Chicago with a degree in finance.
