
Edward Usalis is a senior manager in AccuVal's Business Valuation practice. With 10 years of valuation experience, Mr. Usalis came to the firm from one of the nation's largest accounting and consulting firms where he worked as a senior manager for their Business Valuation and Advisory Services group. His strongest technical area of valuation is Financial Reporting, especially purchase price allocation (ASC 805 (formerly SFAS 141R)) and goodwill impairment (ASC 350 (formerly SFAS 142)). He also has experience providing business valuations for a variety of purposes including federal gift and estate tax, estate planning, tender offers, mergers and acquisitions, stock options and intangible assets. Mr. Usalis has served as an expert witness in arbitrations and mediations, and his work has been reviewed by all Big 4 accounting firms, as well as McGladrey, Grant Thornton, Moss Adams and Crowe.
Mr. Usalis has a J.D. and an M.A. with a concentration in corporate finance from The Ohio State University and a B.S.B.A. in finance and economics from Creighton University. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Candidate of the American Society of Appraisers and a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers. Mr. Usalis has completed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) coursework.
